yes it was awesome.
I'm happy for the players and W.K.U. but lets not make Horn a saint. Horn can go anytime he wants. Maybe this will entice some school to steal him away and we can get a coach that has a better relationship with his players. |

Now, THAT was a basketball game!!! I'm a little miffed at some of the calls, and also some of the remarks by the commentators, but hey, WE WON!

Best game I've ever seen; wish I was there. Why the Horn bashing Elvis? Do you EVEN attend WKU games? I seriously doubt it!! Horn and his players
have a great relationship. Yes he had a rocky start with them but he was young - they have grown together and have proved what a team really is.

yes i have been to both the mens and womens games in the past.
I have never liked coach horn and he hasn't done much to help himself. no clue who you know or talk to but no the players have little use for him. it wouldn't hurt MTC to crack a smile and put on a little makeup once in a blue moon. |

you've been to games in the past...we'll then you dont' know much about the situation at present. I am VERY close to the program....very close and
I DO know how the players feel about Horn. Clearly, you have issues with both coaches for some reason....feeling a little inadequate in your abilities as an
athlete maybe?

Elvis, allow me to explain. There are always "sources close to the program", just like the sources close to the UK program last year that guaranteed
Billy Donovan was going to Lexington. I am a WKU alum, and I have sources too. Darrin has averaged about 24 wins per season in his stint at WKU. That's
pretty darn good. They should have received an at-large bid last year, but got hosed because of the conference. He has improved their non-conference schedule
each year as well. Their RPI has been higher under his watch than under Felton's. I don't actually have facts for that, but I will bet it is true. I
could be wrong. The bottom line is this;
Felton was very good for Western, and I hated to see him go. But he never got to the NCAA without Chris Marcus. Marcus was probably the best center in the country, and a huge coup for Felton. I don't know where your comments about Horn's relationship with his players come from, but that is the first I have ever heard of that-except for transfers, and that happens. Darrin is a good coach. I wasn't thrilled with the decision when they hired him, but he has been pretty good. Hey, they are in the second round, and South Alabama is going home. So is UK.

ok ok i'll hush. i've seen you angry. people wouldn't like to see you when your angry.
you like the incredible hulk only the midgit version. i still have the scar where you got mad at me when we went giggin. i still think you over reacted but hey we are freinds and friends forgive. however.......................old buddy, old pal. im not knocking him on his record but his personality could be better and great record or not folks were getting ancy that the mens and womens team hadn't made the big dance for a while. i'll guess Horn will have phone calls after W.K.U. runs it's course and i'll go as far to say MTC saved her job by winning the sunbelt this year. |

What is there about Mr. Horn's personality that you believe could be better? Everyone has flaws.

That's better. Remember to put honey/vitamin E oil on that scar. It will go away soon enough. I promise to trim my nails, toe and finger, before we roll again. Seriously though, Darrin's job has not been in jeopardy. He certainly is not an extrovert, but he knows his X's and O's. I don't know much about Mary's situation, but I'm really glad the ladies came through this year. |

I've crossed paths with a few current/former players in two separate environments and yeah the subject of Coach Horn came up and by no means did anyone curse him but they did make a few comments and one story was told that made me think man what a jerk. ya know when you get the same feedback from 4 different players... well you know the old saying if it comes from the horses mouth.who's better to judge than a player ? |

OK, I started this thread to give props to the tops for the great win today, but apparently it has turned into another Sound off civil war.
I've known Darrin Horn, in passing, since he played ball at Western. I was a student tutor for the mens b-ball team in 95' and 96'. He never needed any tutoring, but I ran across him plenty of times while chasing other team members and he always said hi to me and was nothing but 100% nice to me and actually knew who I was. I've also seen him quite a bit in the last few years on Sundays, as his kids go to Sunday school at my church. He is always upbeat, cheerful and he goes out of his way to pay attention to the special needs child that I take care of and give her attention and say hello to her every week, regardless of how late he traveled the night before. Darrin Horn is a nice guy. |

MASONICELVIS wrote:Thats quite funny actually. In fact, EVERYONE on the internet is 5'11, 158.5 lbs, with golden blond hair, sparkling blue eyes, "ripped" abs, and more than average endowment. We are all 3rd degree black belts in 9 different martial arts, play 4 different kinds of ball, and WE ALL know somebody, or know somebody that knows somebody, that's in the know. Take me for example; I taught Beyonce how to sing, and I'm the one that took the nude pictures of Vanessa Hudgens. Any bragging typed on an internet forum is just as believable as any story told in the local Bass Pro Shop. ![]()
