MASONICELVIS wrote: And that's why first impressions are a problem. No one get to see the whole picture of a person with first impressions. They provide insight, yes, but one has no way of knowing what is running through someone elses mind at any given moment. As for your last sentence, do you honestly believe that the relationship between a coach and his/her players is alway peachy? Those same 4 players could have had a bad practice and the coach was riding them hard. They didn't agree with his methods but that is their problem, and again, not his. |

I'm still trying to figure out what a coach wearing makeup has to do with winning games

I don't usually wear alot of heavy eyeliner while shooting hoops either. I'd wear my lucky red socks to every game if that's what will keep them winning. (For the record I will wash them every season) |

Hey, let's get this thread back where it should be. Friday was absolutely awesome. Today was incredible, but I really thought they were better. WKU
hasn't been in the sweet 16 since I was a student in the early 80's. This is great, better than great. Great for WKU, great for BG, great for those
gritty players, and great for the Sunbelt conference. WKU has a tough road next Thursday, but far stranger things have happened. WKU beating UCLA is no more
of a stretch than Davidson beating Georgetown today. UCLA has struggled the last couple of weeks. WKU will have to play a very, very, good game. But, they
can play with these guys. They played Tennessee to 6 points, and had a chance to win that game. They are a much better team now. Do not expect a blowout by
UCLA. No matter what happens, I am so proud/happy for them. And Rick, the next Sunday that Darrin is at church, I will tell him so, just as you will. I hope
that is at least three weeks away! Go Tops!

BGlifer wrote: Uh, UCLA has a deeper bench? I don't think so. That is one of their achilles heels. They play about 7 players, maybe 8. We play 10 or 11 and
don't miss a beat. Have you even seen WKU play this year? Granted UCLA probably has better overall talent, hence their no. 1 seed, but we play as a
team. It will take a great effort on our part to beat them but it can be done.
EDIT: Ooops, I quoted the wrong post. I meant to quote the post where Elvis made the bold, and uninformed, statement that UCLA has a deeper bench. |

As I said earlier, WKU has a great chance to win this game. If UCLA were to beat them 12-15 points, I would not be surprised. But, it will surprise me less
to see it under 5. WKU is a very good team, playing very well right now, and with a lot of confidence. If they can get UCLA to play their "controlled
chaos" style of play, then it could come down to the last possession-again. And what is with the Mata-whatever headband over the ears? Does he think
that is a good look? He must have Dumbo-ears.

MASONICELVIS wrote: Elvis, I've known Mary for a long time. She doesn't wear a lot of make up. She does wear some for games. I don't think many of the female basketball coaches do. Can you imagine, they are out there on the floor, temperatures are rising and their eye make-up is running? Not too pretty. I know Mary runs every day at lunch time, then she has practice, why would she bother with much make-up during the work day. As for her not smiling, she is focused on that game. Make sense? |
