from Christopher Johanson's letter to the editor...Wow, talk about making my case! It's a vague reference. It's been called circus lot and old circus ground.
We have not yet found historical accounts describing circuses or other activities that explain the name. But that cannot diminish the fact that there is written evidence that the people of the late 19th century clearly associated that block with the word "circus."
So what?
He could have written "a consultant found this reference, and we have embraced it without hesitation and there shall be no further discussion."
Once again, why no response from the DRA executive or the DRA president?
Jonesville was a thriving area of Bowling Green. 67 families and many businesses were located there. What's left? A small plaque on WKU's campus. (paid for by WKU)
Yet, a vague reference on a map is highlighted via the focal point for the redevelopment.
Is there a landmark area to honor BG's founders: the Moore brothers?
