We of the Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion, presented by SoffSeal, are really looking forward to coming back to Bowling Green and the newly-paved roads. We're thrilled to hear that the traffic problems have been resolved. And although we enjoyed our trip last year to Columbus, Ohio, we missed lots of our friends from Bowling Green and Warren County.

Posts: 5813 04/19/08 10:06 AM	speaking for myself and as one who wrote editorials that were printed in the BGDN,turned out with about 500 plus at Ryan's to show support and even spoke to the crowd I'M DAMN PROUD TO SEE YOU ALL BACK" i would offer one suggestion and at some point during the event a kind word of recognition should be spoken about Dallas his family and staff going up and beyond the call of duty along with the supporters that did all they could to help keep Beech Bend the way it is. you can add to that list Smoking Joe Morris,Grandaddy,Spivy from Race world,WDNS/WKCT,Alan the big Kahuna at the station and Gary the big Kahuna at Ryan's. Brent Guthry( i hope spelled that right) along with Jim DeCesare did all they could from their end. I am very disappointed that our local elected didn't do as much as i and MANY others thought they could or should have. bob talley

Posts: 3 04/19/08 10:27 AM	I know full well of all the support - both political and financial - that we've received from Dallas in terms of his spending money on the road problems. The facility upgrades continue - without taking away from the essential nostalgic character that brought us to Bowling Green in the first place. Personally, I want to say that I've never been welcomed to a town as nicely as I have to Bowling Green. Everyone from the folks at the hotel, the helpers at the restaurants and the people at the track have been as nice as could be. It reminds me that there IS an America out there between the coasts and this nation continues strong as long as these people are around. Please understand that we don't always "toot our own horn" about how helpful people like Dallas and the others you named are. It's not really part of the show on racing weekend. But come to the free reception on Friday night and we'll do our best to get things in. Best regards, Mike

Posts: 3 05/31/08 7:47 AM	Unfortunately, the mesothelioma (cancer) that I'm battling in my abdomen says to stay home next weekend, so I won't be able to personally join you all this year. But Bill Groak, Tony Thacker, Mike Shaw, Greg Sharp and the rest of the crew will definitely do so. Drop by the "media registration" trailer to say hi to Shaw - he'll be a bit lonely - and everyone else will be around in their bright green bowling shirts.
